The event was held for the 11th time in 2014 and focused mainly on special, authentic beers.
105 brew masters, beer sommeliers and specialized journalists from 25 countries participated in the blind-tasting process to evaluate the beers on the basis of color, aroma, head and taste. These experts decided to award “Nissos”, a product of the Tinos-based Cyclades Microbrewery, the Silver Star in the “Bohemian Style Pilsner” category. This is the first time ever that a Greek beer wins such an award.

“Nissos” (island in Greek) is brewed on the island of Tinos at the microbrewery in the Vaya village and was inspired by the rich colours and flavours of the Greek islands, the golden sun, the blue sea and sand of the Aegean Sea. It is also the work of local artisans, using the finest quality ingredients growing in the Greek soil.
