Green, green, green

A day at the Green Marble mines in the northern part of Tenos.

This marble has a characteristic green colour in various tones/shades, enriched by white-green and white veins and spots. The light coloured veins are cracks filled with calcite. It is used in various emblematic buildings both in Greece and abroad, such as the United Nations. A marble of excellent quality and of high technical specifications!

The purses/pouches photographed are handmade with fabric made in the loom using cotton warp & weft.
